Jasper is a 3 year old miniature Schnauzer. He weighs about 18 pounds. He was rescued from a puppy mill in Pennsylvania where he was valued only for his ability to sire litters of puppies. He has never really been a "pet" before but has adapted to ‘pet life’ with ease. He is accepting and friendly about the other dogs in the home and is accepting of males and females. We do not know if he likes cats.
Jasper was adopted in January to a home without another dog. The adopter also lived alone and would need to occasionally go to the office a few hours. He developed some anxiety when left alone. He has always been with other dogs. For this reason we will be placing Jasper in a home with another pet and/or with someone who is retired or works from home. Crate training is encouraged for times when he must be left alone. Free roam of the home causes him anxiety
