Meet Luther! Luther is a 3 year old, 8 pound, male Yorkie mix. He comes to us from the shelter in Philadelphia where he was believed to be hit by a car. We took over his care and had him transferred to a local surgical vet hospital. They took x-rays and determined he was not a candidate for surgery but with strict crate rest he should heal without incident.
He is currently being fostered in Norfolk and is progressing with his recovery. He is an active little guy so it has been hard to keep him contained. He is feeling better and wants everyone to know he is ready to play.
Luther is cat friendly and loves everyone he meets. He was initially timid as you can imagine. He was in pain in a strange place but he has opened up nicely. He is definitely a lovebug.
He will be best served in a home that is active and likes to walk. Once healed he has a lot of catching up to do! He would love a "work from home" mom or dad. He might enjoy a sibling and would benefit from a fenced yard.
He will have follow up x-rays on 8/26/26 and his neuter is scheduled for 9/1/26. Once healed, he will be ready for adoption. September will be here quick. Put your application in now! He is a cutie.
