Meet Peanut!
Peanut is a 7 pound, 3 year old (best guess), male, Yorkie (mix). He was surrendered to the Chesapeake shelter when his owner could no longer care for him and entered a long term care facility. Peanut is living with two children over the age of 6 and is respectful of them. He is a low energy little guy who is working on his house manners and leash walking.
Understandably, he is showing some signs of separation anxiety but this is to be expected when dogs are surrendered from their homes to the shelter. In time we hope he will understand he is safe. We will give him room to explore his new world and show patience as he learns to adjust in his foster home. He is a sweet little guy trying to navigate a who new world. He would benefit from training classes to develop some confidence.
Peanut will be neutered September 24th and once healed he will be ready for adoption. Get your application in now.
