President
Susannah is the President, Co-Founder, and Treasurer of Compact Canine Rescue, providing both strategic vision and hands-on operational leadership for the organization. She oversees all rescue programs, sets goals, policies, and priorities, and manages the day-to-day logistics that ensure every dog receives proper care, placement, and ongoing support. In addition, she directs and oversees fundraising efforts that sustain the rescue’s mission and long-term impact. Outside of her work with the rescue, Susannah is a Mortgage Loan Officer at American Financial Network.
Board Member
Kathy is a Board Member, Co-Founder, and Secretary of the organization, playing a key role in overseeing the adoption approval process. She manages a team of volunteers who handle application reviews, adopter interviews, reference checks, and pre-adoption home evaluations to ensure the best possible match for each dog. Kathy also recruits and supports volunteers, serving as a primary point of contact to provide guidance, updates, and encouragement, while ensuring they feel valued and supported. In addition, she oversees the organization’s microchip registration program. Now retired, Kathy dedicates her time and experience to strengthening the rescue’s operations and volunteer community.
Board Member
Jonna is a dedicated board member who brings extensive volunteer experience to the organization. She conducts post-adoption follow-up communications with adopters, performs veterinary checks, fosters dogs, and supports a variety of additional volunteer needs as they arise. Now retired, Jonna devotes her time and expertise to ensuring positive outcomes for both dogs and adopters, playing a vital role in the rescue’s continued success.
Board Member
Shawnna is a Board Member and Marketing Coordinator who supports the rescue’s marketing, outreach, and fundraising initiatives through multichannel campaigns, event promotions, and donor engagement. She manages the organization’s quarterly newsletter and creates compelling visuals and content that highlight adoptable dogs and showcase the rescue’s impact. In addition to her board responsibilities, Shawnna assists with other volunteer duties as needed. Professionally, she serves as the Assistant Director of Marketing at Vertical Aviation International, a nonprofit organization.
Foster Coordinator
Sharon serves as the Intake and Foster Care Coordinator for Compact Canine Rescue, helping lead a mission-driven organization dedicated to saving at-risk dogs and placing them into safe, loving homes. With hands-on experience in animal rescue since April 2016, she oversees intake coordination, medical and behavioral care, foster support, and adoption placement, working closely with veterinary partners, local shelters, and a dedicated foster network to ensure each dog receives individualized care from rescue to adoption. She is deeply committed to creating positive, long-term outcomes by building a sustainable rescue that supports dogs, adopters, and the broader community. On a personal level, Sharon has fostered more than 60 dogs since 2016 and considers it a privilege to have helped each one find the perfect home.
