I've found my furever family!

Hi! My Name Is Apollo

We're happy to tell you that Apollo has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Apollo found himself at the local shelter when his owner passed away.  The shelter stressed him out … so he was happy to leave and move into his foster home.  The shelter estimates he is about 4 years old.  Surprise -- his DNA test revealed he is a yorkie-shon ... half yorkie and half bichon frise!   He has a curly coat that will require regular grooming (he is low to no shed).   He is simply adorable and as sweet as can be!

Apollo is a charming, laid back guy.  He absolutely LOVES going for walks.  A fenced yard is not required, but he would love it if his furever home had one.  He will require a furever family who will commit to walking him on a leash several times a day.  He loves meeting other dogs and people.  We have no experience with cats.  A home with a similar sized fur-sibling would be great.  He loves being with his people.  He wants to be able to see you where ever you are.  And if he can snuggle up next to you, that is a bonus.  He does have some separation anxiety, however, that is improving every day.  Because of this, he will do best in a home where someone is home most of the time.

Apollo weighs just about 20 pounds.  After he settled into his foster home, his eating improved and he is eating well.  He wants to be able to sleep in the bed with you.  He definitely did NOT like being confined to a crate.    He appears to be completely housebroken.  No accidents since he has been with us for several weeks and he will let you know when he needs to go out!

Apollo is being fostered in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware (19971).  He saw the vet on March 17 and the groomer on March 20.  He is available for adoption.  For more information, contact his foster mom at kathy@compactcaninerescue.org.  And be sure to fill out Compact Canine Rescue’s Adoption Application.
