Update 8/25/2025:
Beatrice had her surgery on Aug 18 and has been released from the hospital. She is recovering without incident in her foster home. After she is released from the surgeons care, she will be ready for adoption. She is a very spunky little lady. She will need a home that is calm, without rough-housing with children or other pets. While she is stable with hardware in her spine there is always a chance of injury. She will need a ramp to get on furniture or to be picked up. Jumping should not be allowed. Respectful, older children would be best if any are in her new home. If you are interested, please apply and email us.
Beatrice is new in rescue. She is a very sweet, 3 month old, miniature (toy) poodle. She is very tiny little lady but she doesn't let that stop her. Beatrice is a a spunky little girl who loves everyone she meets.
Beatrice comes to us from a very sad situation. She was surrendered to a veterinarian after her new owners noticed she had some difficulty walking. She was diagnosed with atlantoaxial luxation of the cervical spine at C1 and C2 and needs very expensive testing and surgery to heal this condition. Her owners could not afford the treatment for her and surrendered her to the veterinary practice. We were called in and decided we could not allow this sweet girl to suffer. She is now in foster care awaiting her neurology consultation on August 9th.
