Buttons is new in rescue. She is a tiny little girl who weighs about 5 pounds. The vet will age her during her dental but we believe she is an adult, 8 years +/-2 old. She is very anxious since being surrendered to the rescue. She saw the vet today and began her vetting process. Buttons will be spayed, have a dental and receive vaccine boosters over the next few weeks. Once healed from surgery, she will be ready for adoption (mid to late March).
Since coming into rescue Buttons has been extremely anxious. She has not been friendly to the resident dogs in the foster home and is very demanding of foster moms time. She will growl and snap at the resident foster siblings when they approach her and for this reason she will be placed as an only dog when adopted.
Buttons will need a calm, quiet home environment, preferably adult (or older children) where she will not be left alone much if at all. Due to the neglect she has suffered before coming into rescue, she is a very anxious little pup. Hopefully, she will learn to trust again with time and patience. She is making strides in that direction but several weeks in a foster home does not erase the abandonment she felt and neglect.
