UPDATE 2/13/24: Cookie Dough has made the transition to foster care without any issues. She is a typical puppy! She is happy, playful, and full of puppy energy! We see no signs of high anxiety at this time. She is an inquisitive and loves playing with her foster puppy sibling, Peaches.
Cookie Dough will need to be spayed and have vaccines updated in the next few weeks. Once healed she will be ready for adoption! We couldn’t be happier for this sweet girl!
Cookie Dough will need an active home and an owner willing to train a puppy. Priority given to owners with fenced yards and a person at home during the day. Cookie would not do well in a home with young children. However, having another young dog for her to hang out with and play with would be a huge plus! **Formal training will be required for adoption. If you cannot commit to training please do not apply. Proof of completion must be submitted within 3 months of adoption.
Cookie Dough is new in rescue. She was purchased from a "puppy store" in Virginia Beach. She came home and she was very nervous and not transitioning well. The young family did not have the resources to help train and care for her so they decided to surrender her to us. She will see the vet for updated vaccines soon. She has very bad separation anxiety and has seen a behavioral vet, Dr. Learn in Richmond, VA at the Animal Behavior and Wellness Center, for evaluation and treatment. After her evaluation, she was placed in her foster home in Delaware for specialized separation anxiety training, love, attention, and playtime! Cookie Dough needs to learn how to cope with her anxiety and we will do our best to make this happen. We will give her all the time and attention she needs to become the confident young lady she is meant to be!
