Things to know before applying to adopt Frannie:

  • 9 month old Havachon (Bichon + Havanese mix)
  • 12 pounds
  • Spay surgery completed in early May
  • Sweet and friendly
  • DOES NOT LIKE CHILDREN; ADULT ONLY HOME
  • Frannie currently lives with 3 other small dogs of a similar size.
  • She gets along great with her foster siblings, and is very playful.
  • She is curious around larger dogs and wags her tail to say hello.
  • She hasn’t had any close interactions with larger dogs or with cats.
  • Walks well on a leash.
  • Loves to sniff around outside.
  • Priority given to applicants with puppy mill experience
  • Fenced yard a plUS
  • She doesn’t prefer long distance walks, but rather short walks up and down the street where she can sniff and explore.
  • Eats well and loves treats. Not picky.
  • Potty trained outside and uses pee pads inside.
  • Sleeps great on bed with her dog and human family.
  • She will sleep as long as you sleep and won’t bother you at night.
  • She is currently on eye drops for dry eye and will have a follow up eye appointment in the upcoming weeks to assess need for further interventions.
  • The eye doctor suspects that she had an infection in both eyes as a puppy, as is common in puppy mills.  Frannie has no problems seeing and navigating life in a busy home!
  • completion of a basic manners training course required to finalize adoption

What my foster Mom says about me:

Frannie is an amazing little fluff ball of love.  She is equal part cuddle and play.  She loves running with toys and playing fetch and she’s also happy to spend as much time on your lap as you’ll allow!  For a puppy mill survivor, she is doing great and doesn’t appear to have any issues with human connection and providing and receiving love from the humans around her.  She does not tolerate children.

**Frannie has separation anxiety and will need to have someone who can be home with her until she trusts and learns she is safe. Growing up in a puppy mill during her formative months has made her anxious. Her foster mom manages it without incident and new owners will need to be flexible and learn to work with her. Medications may be needed to make the transition.

She is very food and treat motivated so she’s easy to train and has learned a few basic commands.  She has no food aggression or aggression of any kind.   Frannie will make a wonder family pet for the person who can make her feel loved and safe!  Her ideal forever home has another small dog to play with, a fenced yard, and someone who will take her outside for lots of sniffy adventures.
