Jameson is a 10 pound, 5 month old terrier mix (we were told Morkie but he’s taller than a typical Morkie). He is fully vetted, microchipped, neutered and ready for adoption. He is an active boy who deserves the best!
Since entering rescue he has made huge strides. His house manners are progressing nicely. He will now bark when he needs to go out! He has even learned to use potty pads just by watching his puppy foster brother who is 8 months old. He’s a VERY smart dog.
Jameson does not know a stranger. He LOVES children as well as adults and other dogs. An ideal home would have another dog and/or child(ren) for company. He would not do well alone all day or in an apartment. He does have a loud bark which he uses to let foster mom know he is hungry, needs to potty or wants to play! Thankfully , he no longer barks all day from anxiety. Within 2 days of being in his foster home he was a different dog! What a smart boy! Consistency was key! He, like most dogs, enjoys his schedule. He likes knowing what is coming next! He will need an adopter who is consistent with him to continue his progress.
As with all dogs adopted for the rescue 2 years old and under, Jameson will be required to attend a training/basic manners class to finalize his adoption. You will have 6 months to complete this and we suggest his training start once he is acclimated to his new home.
Jameson LOVES his daily walks. He walks 1 to 1 1/2 miles each morning. In the afternoon depending on the weather, he will walk another 1/2 to 1 mile. He also has a lot of playtime during the day with his foster siblings and foster her mom. Ideally, he would love someone to be home with him most of the day. A active family with a stay at home parent or someone who works from home would be ideal.
Jameson does have some separation anxiety but it is manageable with consistency and praise. He has learned foster mom will return when she leaves. He no longer cries when foster mom leaves. This is HUGE! Again, he is on the road to becoming his best self! Thankfully, he is young enough to retrain. He will most likely always be nervous but he is absolutely making strides in the right direction.
We will will give him the time and attention he needs to succeed.
