From foster mom:
Minnie LOVES being outdoors. She goes out every chance she gets and selectively ignores us when we call her back inside. She usually looks at us and promptly lays in the grass. Thankfully, she responds very well to “treat.” She will also snuggle with her foster siblings and cover herself when she’s sleeping, sometimes partially, sometimes completely. She likes to sleep way under the covers in the human bed, down by our feet. She doesn’t love hardwood as she finds it slippery, so she walks very gingerly in the house. We think she’s left-pawed as that’s the side she uses most to tell us we’re not petting her enough.
Minnie Mouse is new in rescue. She comes to us from the Suffolk Shelter as an owner surrender. Minnie Mouse is a miniature pincher mix. She is about 11 years old and weighs about 11 pounds.
Miss Minnie is a very sweet girl. She has acclimated to her foster home and is friendly with the resident dogs. She is very much a lap dog. She loves to snuggle and will nudge your hand if you dare to stop petting her.
Minnie Mouse seems to understand potty manners (but we never guarantee a dog is 100% house trained). She walks well on leash. She eats in her exercise pen and enjoys lots of senior snoozes throughout the day. She wears her age well. You would not know she was 11 years old unless you already know her birthday. She is a very spunky little lady. She will make a wonderful addition to any home.
Minnie Mouse will thrive in a quiet, adult only home that understands seniors. She has not been child tested and given her age we can assume she will not understand children at this stage in her life. She does not need another dog but will be fine with another polite dog. She would enjoy a short walk to stretch her legs daily and a fenced yard would be a plus to allow her time to sniff and enjoy nature without overdoing it.
Foster mom says Minnie Mouse is a delightful little lady and a pleasure to foster. Please contact her foster mom at the email address above if you have any questions.
Minnie Mouse saw the vet this week (8/4) and she checked out great. They could not believe she is a senior dog. She charmed the vets office and patrons too! Don’t let this little lady slip by! She’s a dream!
