Nemo is a three-month-old Yorkie mix puppy with a curious and energetic personality. He arrived as an owner surrender, along with his sister Dory, after their previous owner noticed that their front legs were slightly short and not developing properly due to a minor birth defect. Unfortunately, Nemo (and Dory) are now without a home!
Nemo’s breed mix is primarily Yorkie, though it’s unclear what other breeds may be present, as he came from an accidental litter. His anticipated full-grown weight is unknown. Nemo has been examined by a veterinarian and received a clean bill of health, despite his short front legs and lack of toenails. The vet did mention that Nemo may be prone to arthritis in the future due to his abnormal front paws and gait, but otherwise, he is a healthy little guy. He will need to be neutered once he reaches a safe weight.
Nemo is notably nosy and loves to venture off to explore his surroundings. He follows his foster mom throughout the house, investigating every nook and cranny. His curious nature means his foster mom must be vigilant to ensure he doesn’t get accidentally locked in a room when she exits. Nemo is easy-going and capable of entertaining himself with chew toys and balls. He also enjoys playing with his sister Dory, who is also currently in foster care.
Nemo will require a booster for his distemper/parvo vaccine in three weeks. So far, Nemo gets along well with other dogs. He has not been tested with cats. He adores any human who gives him attention but has only interacted with adults to date. Due to his tiny size and tendency to get underfoot, it’s important to watch where you step when Nemo is nearby.
Nemo is working on his potty manners. He is learning to use potty pads and will also potty outside. He will begin leash training after his booster (if he is still here). He is in foster moms boot camp for puppies!
Nemo is a loving puppy who is ready to bring joy and affection to his forever family. If you’re looking for a playful and affectionate companion, consider applying to adopt Nemo and give him the loving home he deserves.
He will be ready for adoption (with neuter addendum) in 3 weeks.
**Formal training/basic manners classes required to finalize adoption.
