Ralphie is a sweet, bouncy little dog! He comes when called and knows how to sit. Since his neuter, he seems housebroken, no accidents so far! But he is still a work in progress.
Ralphie is very good company as he will follow the foster family thru the house. In the evening Ralphie will sit on the sofa buried in blankets or sit on the floor chewing on a toy. He loves the visiting toddler, but keep the toddler toys away as he likes to chew on stuffies & wood puzzles!
Ralphie can be possessive of treats and food around the resident dog. From time to time we see this behavior in dogs who were strays. With patience, time and training, the behavior typically resolves, especially when they understand they are safe and food is no longer scarce. It has not been an issue with foster mom. She feeds separately and suggests a new owner do the same.
Ralphie is an escape artist and WILL find a way out of the most secure fence. He MUST be on leash at all times.
Ralphie is crate trained but will try and avoid being put in it. He also has a voice & loves to bark at sounds, indoors or outdoors. He may not be a good choice for apartment/condo/townhome residents.
Ralphie is a young, active, playful, friendly dog. He will be best served with a family who will keep him occupied with activities, snuggles and plenty of exercise. He will make a wonderful family dog.

Ralphie is new to the rescue. He was a stray in Suffolk who found his way into the shelter. He is a small, Maltese type pup, approximately 3 years old. Ralphie weighs about 9 pounds. He will be scheduled for vaccines, microchip, and neuter surgery as well as a grooming as soon as we can make it happen. So far he is adjusting to his foster home nicely. Stay tuned for more photos and updates once we get to know him a little more.
