UPDATE 4/7/2025: Foster mom says...Shadow is getting stronger every day.
Shadow is a high energy little guy. He would like to go for a short walks but definitely would not be good with significant exercise. He needs somebody who is home more often than not. He tolerates the create and will need to be confined when you’re not home to prevent injury. As with most young dogs he is inquisitive and needs to be supervised. He does like to explore and get into things. We believe he is only about 2 no more than 3 years old. He is prone to having some GI distress but bounces back quickly. His potty training is pretty good.
He would be best suited in a house with just one other dog or as an only. A single story home with carpets/throw rugs for traction, a fenced yard, someone home more than not would be ideal. The perfect home would have someone who can pick him up to carry him easily, and has the financial means to take care of him, should his back problems progress.
Shadow loves everyone he meets and he is waiting for his forever home.
UPDATE 2/1/2025: Shadow has been seen by a neurologist, has had extensive testing and is currently under-going PT and steroid therapy to regain muscle tone in his back legs from IVDD

Shadow is new in rescue. He is a small, mix breed, black, fluffy pup. He is very active and happy. He does have some lameness in his hind legs. He will see the neurologist for a consult this week. Once treatment for the lameness begins, we will consult the vet for his neuter surgery.
We will update you on his progress once we know more about him.
