If interested in Stella, please email her foster mom Sharon at email@example.com
UPDATE 8/14/22: Stella is fully recovered from her spay surgery and is now ready for her new home. She is a wonderful dog and has made many strides during her stay in foster care. She is a loving and gentle dog who is becoming more confident everyday. She is a joy to foster! Please visit our social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram to see Stella in action.
Stella will need a fenced yard for adoption. She will do best in a calm home with someone who is there most of the day, who works from home or who is retired. She enjoys being her with people. Stella tolerates other dogs but she would prefer to be an only dog. She wants to be the apple of your eye.
UPDATE: Stella is ready for adoption! Foster mom says:
I see Stella’s best placement with an older individual who is looking for a companion. She is definitely a dog who will bond with one person and she will crave their full attention. She still shows no interest in toys or the other dogs. She would not do well in a home with lots of activity, noise, kids, etc. Stella needs to be an only dog. She deserves to be the queen of her castle! I believe the adopter needs to be a retired individual or someone who works from home. She would not do well if left for long periods of time. She is very calm, peaceful, and is responding well to routine, consistency, patience and a positive calm approach. Next week she will be spayed (8/2/22). Once healed, she will ready for her new home.
INTAKE: Stella is looking for a home. She is being fostered in Lewes, DE. She is around 2-3 years old. She weighs about 13 pounds. She is tan/brown/chestnut and white. Seems to be a chihuahua mix, she may have some spitz. It's a mystery!
Stella was a stray who was hit by a car. A Good Samaritan brought her into the shelter after finding her injured and running scared. She had broken ribs and was very scared. She will need time to heal both physically and mentally. She is already beginning to trust foster mom; eating chicken from her hand and taking her medicines.
