Tilly comes to us from a hoarding situation in Pennsylvania. She is a 4 year old, 13 pound miniature schnauzer. She was adopted to a family about 4 weeks ago and has been returned. We are sorry it did not workout but here is what we learned.
Tilly prefers women to men. She is not scared of men but takes longer to warm up to them. She also needs the help of another dog.
If you are interested in Tilly please email her foster mom. Her ideal home will include a female who is the main caregiver, another dog, a fenced yard and someone willing to build her confidence walking on leash. A manners/training class would be beneficial to help her build confidence. Foster mom says Tilly has mastered the steps, loves snuggles in bed, and follows her everywhere! She is a joy to foster.
Schnauzers are great watch dogs. They are intelligent, active dogs who enjoy training. They may not be good apartment dogs as they tend to bark. They require regular exercise and mental stimulation. They also require grooming every 4-6 weeks. Read more about the schnauzer HERE
